Blade Redpool
Race: Aasimar Class: Bloodrager (Primalist) Player: TBD Campaign: Mummy’s Mask
Origins
Blade Redpool was born under a comet’s radiant light in a small village near the Sphinx Basin in Osirion. His mother, Selene, was a wandering oracle who claimed Blade’s celestial bloodline was a gift from a long-forgotten angelic guardian. His father — a stern, pragmatic human mercenary — was skeptical of the divine connection, though he couldn’t deny the faint golden glow that always seemed to surround the boy.
From an early age, Blade exhibited both celestial traits and an unpredictable temper: radiant eyes that glimmered like molten gold, and fiery outbursts that clashed constantly with his father’s discipline. His mother saw those outbursts as a manifestation of his inner struggle — the chaotic pull of mortal emotions battling his divine essence.
Key Life Events
The Burning Fields As a young man, Blade joined his father’s mercenary company. During a skirmish against ruthless slavers, his raw, untamed rage exploded — arcane power engulfed the battlefield, decimating the enemy but also claiming the lives of innocents caught in the crossfire. Wracked with guilt, Blade abandoned the mercenary life, vowing never to lose control again. This event forged his chaotic good alignment: a fierce commitment to justice, tempered by the knowledge that even righteous fury can have unintended consequences.
The Wanderer’s Burden Seeking redemption and understanding of his powers, Blade began traveling the deserts of Osirion. Along the way he met an elemental shaman who taught him to embrace his primal instincts without succumbing to them. It was here that Blade adopted the Primalist archetype — learning to balance his celestial heritage with the raw arcane forces surging within him.
The Fall of Selene Returning to his childhood village, Blade discovered it had been razed by a cult of Lamashtu. His mother had died defending her people — but not before leaving behind cryptic warnings of a growing evil in Osirion. Among her final possessions was an ancient map of the Necropolis of Wati, marked with celestial symbols.
Motivations
Blade’s primary goal is to uncover the truth behind his mother’s final warning and protect Osirion from the encroaching darkness. The map she left behind guides him to Wati. He views the tombs not as a source of wealth, but as a means to uncover the celestial connections hinted at in Selene’s map — particularly tales of ancient pharaohs who communed with divine beings, which he believes may hold the key to understanding his powers and his destiny.
Personality
Blade is complex. His celestial heritage grants him an aura of compassion and a natural inclination to help those in need — but his fiery temperament and tendency to act impulsively lead to conflict, both internal and external.
Strengths: Fiercely loyal, determined, and inspiring in battle. His angelic bloodline allows him to channel divine energy, giving him a unique edge against undead and evil creatures.
Weaknesses: Prone to self-doubt and guilt, particularly over the lives lost in the Burning Fields. His chaotic good alignment often puts him at odds with more rigidly lawful allies.
Internal conflict: Blade struggles to reconcile his fiery rage with his angelic nature. His desire to protect often conflicts with his chaotic tendencies, leaving him questioning whether he is truly a force for good or a danger to those around him.
External conflict: In Wati, Blade faces prejudice against Aasimars and suspicion from fellow adventurers who see his wild magic as a liability. His chaotic methods clash with local authorities — though his heart and determination earn him allies among the oppressed.
“Blade Redpool is a hero forged by tragedy, driven by a burning desire to protect others and atone for his past. His journey through Wati promises not only personal redemption, but the unraveling of mysteries that could change the fate of Osirion forever.”
